So tonight,” Clio put her hand on Luca’s waist, pulling her closer until their bodies would start making contact as they swayed to the music. “I have my hair up and you have yours down. A bit of a funny thing, isn’t it?”

Feeling Clio’s body so close, inhaling her sweet scent, Luca had to catch her breath and struggle to compose herself. “If it’s so funny,” Luca noted Clio’s red ears and flushed cheeks, “Why are you blushing instead of laughing?”

Clio bit her lip and looked away, shifting self consciously and bunching up the folds of skirt she’d been holding. “I’m nervous, alright?”

“I’m nervous, too.” It was like her stomach was twisting itself into knots and Luca was so used to this feeling preceding an attack (and then a full-blown werewolf transformation dear god) that it was actually frightening. Hopefully Clio wouldn’t notice how clammy the hand on her shoulder was.

And God why did she have to be so tall? The witch (technically she literally isone, much to the disapproval of the majority of the werewolves and vampires in this gym), she was in converse. Luca on the other hand was in heels and still a lot shorter. It was a wonder Clio didn’t strain her neck looking down at Luca so much.

“Your mind’s gone wandering off again, hasn’t it?” Clio was smirking. “Where’d it go this time, dearie?”

Luca felt her ears and cheeks heating up and it was difficult to resist the urge to touch them and be way too obvious about how self conscious she was feeling. To occupy her free hand, Luca took Clio’s and intertwined their fingers. “It was just noting how tall you are and if you ever get any neck pains from looking down at me.”

“Looking down at you?” Clio pursed her lips and squinted, as if thinking about it. “Naw, not really?”

“Oh?”

Those pursed lips widened into a smile. “This though, maybe.”

“Wh-” Luca was caught off guard mid-question as Clio bent down to give a kiss.
